License plate sites offering plates for sale

Dave Babcock's license plate website features Texas plates and plates from several other states and Canada.  Dave specializes in Texas Optional and College plates.

PlatesUSA offers a selection of over 50,000 license plates for collectors.  They sell single plates only, and mostly later-issue plates.  Their website says that they do not sell older plates or pairs for YOM registration.

pl8s.com by Drew Steitz is one of the oldest and largest license plate websites on the internet.  It features plates from around the world, including many for sale.

License plate collector's sites showing plates from various states and countries

American License Plate Collectors Association (ALPCA) official club website.  ALPCA is the largest association of license plate collectors and provides a bi-monthly newsletter containing lots of license plate information to members.  Their website contains license plate information and information about club membership.  The website's "Members Only" area contains lots of much more detailed information available to members only.

Antique Auto License Plates shows Steve Grove's collection of Antique Auto license plates and has his "Sale/Trade" list.

Jacob's License Plate Website is a nice collector's website featuring Jacob Newkirk's Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, and Indian Tribal license plates from Jacob's collection.

Jim Moini's License Plates shows license plates from Jim Moini's collection of New Jersey, Apportioned, Mexico, Cereal Plates, #13 Plates, Amish Buggy Plates, Maine, Oregon, and others.

LicensePlates.cc - License plate collector news, events, ads, and auctions. "Highs Page" tracks highest-observed issued plate numbers in each U. S. state and Canadian province.

The License Plate Shack (PlateShack.com) contains photos of over 14,000 US and Canadian license plates, including a large exhibit of 1976 license plates created by Marc Welby and Mike Sells.  Most plates are not for sale.

RicksPlates.com contains photos from Rick Kretschmer's collection, plus his want list and trade list.  Rick's site includes photos and  a narrative history of Maryland and Pennsylvania plates.  Special interests are church and religious related plates.

A-List Internet Auto Classifieds  is an online classified ad site where you can buy and sell antique and classic cars, street rods,  hot rods, and parts.

Antique Auto Ranch of Spokane, Washington sells new (reproduction) 1909 to 1959 Chevy and GMC Pickup parts, plus has several acres of used parts and can repair many (most) obsolete or difficult to find automobile components like water pumps, fuel pumps, etc.

Classic Corvette Parts Garland, Texas online store features classic 1962-1983 Chevy Corvette parts.

Classical Gas Station sells antique and classic American automobiles from their 14,000 sq. ft. showroom full in Eaton, Colorado.  They also have a museum of collectible memorabilia from posters to pedal cars, and more.

Griffin's Classic Cars of Cleburne, Texas specializes in sales of all types of classic cars, and now sells pedal cars and planes.  Financing is available.

Howell's Sheet Metal in Nederland, Texas manufactures quality new sheet metal parts for 1909-1940 Ford vehicles and 1923-1931 Chevrolets.  They also do custom sheet metal fabrication for other models.

Jim Carter Classic Truck Parts of Independence Missouri features parts for 1934-1972 Chevrolet and GMC trucks.  Their web site has lots more related information and they feature both online and print catalogs.

Larry Lawrence Cars & Parts  in Mt. Pleasant, Texas features antique Cadillac cars and parts, NOS parts, signs, gas pumps, and other automobile and automobilia related items.

Mar-K's Quality Parts of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma offers Chevy, Ford, Dodge and custom truck restoration and customization parts made in Oklahoma City.

OldRide.com is an online community for classic car, classic truck and street rod information & classifieds. Browse, buy, or sell classic cars and trucks, muscle cars and street rods, project cars, or parts.

Pro Antique Auto Parts, Inc. of Windsor Locks, CT is a family-owned business that sells quality restoration parts for 1923-1964 american vehicles.

Restoration Supply Company of Escondido, California sells authentic, hard to find restoration supplies and accessories for the antique automobile and marine enthusiast.

Sullivan's Garage specializes in antique autos, classic 1/2 ton trucks, and Ford Model A cars and parts.  They also offer how-to information and other collectable items.

Texas Muscle Cars of McKinney, Texas buys, sells, trades and consigns clean muscle cars.

The Filling Station in Lebanon, Oregon features quality reproduction parts for 1916-1964 Chevrolet cars and 1918-1987 Chevrolet and GMC trucks.  Their website features an online catalog, or you can order a free copy of their entire parts catalog on CD.

Vintage Mustang offers vintage 1965-1973 Ford Mustang cars and parts for sale, plus a list of vistors' parts wanted.

Antique Auto Archive is an eclectic mix of useful information about auto-related subjects.  Contains links to antique and specialty vehicle insurers, information about bidding on E-Bay, information about inflation and the cost of a Model T.

Autopedia is the AUTOmotive encycloPEDIA - a comprehensive source of automotive related information, where consumers can find information related to autos, boats, trucks, minivans, motorcycles, RVs, SUVs and the lemon law.

Collector Car Restoration Home Video Library features videos that describe various processes required to restore an antique or classic vehicle.   You will also find many links to vehicle restoration-related sites.

Lights to Go features traffic light control modules to make your traffic light change colors or flash just like it did when it was in use on the street.  Links to sites that sell used traffic lights.

Lloyd's Automobile Literature sells albums, brochures, and manuals for antique vehicles.  They have been in business for 25 years and orders are shipped within 24 hours from their warehouse.

Second Chance Garage is a website that provides an easy way to learn about restoring antique and classic car restoration.  It provides lots of articles on various topics within the restoration hobby.

Signal Fan is a website that is dedicated to the preservation of historical traffic control devices.  It shows many historic traffic lights and provides information for signal collectors.

Tick Tock Toys  is a neat site full of various collectables including food packaging, store displays, cereal boxes, premiums, etc.  Most items are not for sale, but you can spend hours looking.


Automotive Museums and Displays

The Central Texas Museum of Automotive History in Rosanky, TX is dedicated to the preservation and display of automobile history and displays vehicles dating from 1901-1988.

The Museum of Automobiles in Morrilton, Arkansas was founded in 1964 by late Arkansas Governor Winthrop Rockefeller to  house his automobile collection.  He sold the collection in 1975 and donated the building and grounds to the Arkansas Parks Department.  A nonprofit corporation reopened the Museum in 1976 with cars loaned by collectors around the country and includes a permanent collection of thirty automobiles.  It is headquarters of The Mid-America Old Time Automobile Association (MOTAA).

William E Swigart Jr. Automobile Museum in Huntingdon,  Pennsylvania features on of the most diverse collections of one-and two- cylinder cars in the United States. The museum features many from long-forgotten companies like Crestmobile, Jewel, Mora, and Sears.  The world’s largest name plate display (the crests and emblems on front of the vehicles) supports the automobile collection, plus a display of license plates tells quite a story of registration through the years, first coming into existence soon after the turn of the century.  There are also displays of a wide array of antique toys, trains, dolls, clothing, and many, many more treasured mementos of the past such as bicycles, post cards, brass, horns, lights, etc.  The museum is open May-November from 9:00 am- 5:00 pm.
