Please forgive our incomplete pages
Our site is new and still under construction (and probably will be for a few more months). We will be adding many new items as soon as we get photos of them.
Year of Manufacture information is being updated
We are currently updating Year of Manufacture information listed for each state. Some states have already been updated, and we recently e-mailed and snail-mailed others and are waiting on a response. We have labeled these states as "update pending" or "e-mailed on xx/xx/xxxx", which is simply an internal reminder note and not a reflection on the state so labeled.
Some state DMVs are very prompt and thorough in their replies, and we sincerely appreciate their courtesy and efficiency. We promptly post the information they provides so our visitors can access it. Others are slow to reply, either due to more pressing items in their workload or because they must research answers, which we understand. They usually e-mail us and say "I have forwarded your request to..." to let us know they are working on our inquiry, which we appreciate. When they reply, they answer all our questions and the wait is worth it.
Still others either don't reply at all or only half-answer a few of the questions. I prominently label those states as "DMV does not respond to inquiries - information not available" in bold red letters so their supervisors and taxpayers can be proud of their fine employees for the next two year until we update these pages again.
We decided to bring our site online rather than wait until all states are verified. We will post YOM and DMV information as soon as it is complete.
Where we ship
For now, we ship to the United States only. We are located in a small town that is not adjacent to any major cities, and therefore have limited shipping resources available.
Shipping Cost Estimates
We use the United States Postal Service website to obtain quotes for shipping and insurance on license plates. We have had two recent incidents where the quote we obtained from the USPS website was significantly higher than the actual postage charged at our post office when we mailed the customer's plates. The problem appears to be worse when we get postage quotes to the Western and Northwestern United States.
We do not know actual shipping charges until we deliver your plates to the post office, at which time they have already been sealed, addressed, and are ready to mail. Therefore, our policy towards shipping quotes and actual charges are as follows:
If the difference in the price quoted from the USPS website is less than $1.00 different than the price they actually charge, we will not refund the difference. However, if the shipping price the post office actually charges is $1.00 or more less than the price we obtain from their website and quote you on our preliminary invoice, we will refund the difference to the by check after we have shipped the plates.
We have only experienced the problem since postal rates changed and hope it will be temporary. We are talking to the post office to see how this problem can be remedied, and appreciate your understanding.
